The Brier Group recently unveiled their latest venture Highbar, a chic rooftop oasis in the heart of the booming development of Manhattan’s bustling West Side. Building on the success of Aspen, Amalia, and D’Or, restaurateur Greg Brier’s newest gem offers the city a rare rooftop respite with sweeping views of sunsets over the Hudson River.
The Brier Group tapped ICrave, the acclaimed design firm behind STK and West Hollywood’s hotspot Villa, to create a unique ultra lounge in one of the city’s most up and coming neighborhoods. Working with natural materials such as slate tiles, teak accents, bamboo, and an abundance of lush plants, ICrave creates the feeling of having stumbled into a hidden grotto set against a picturesque backdrop of the New York skyline.
Reminiscent of a luxe penthouse in St. Tropez, Highbar is a breezy hideaway sixteen stories above the bustling city during the sweltering summer months. The terrace sprinkled with sprawling day beds, plush love seats as well as UFO chair by the internationally acclaimed design firm Asobi, give the space a unique feeling of tranquility.
The languid early evening cocktails drift into nighttime revelry as the party shifts from the upstairs lounge to the downstairs VIP room with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the city below. Continuing the natural theme, the room serves as the womb of the space with roots growing from the green canopy above.
The Brier Group’s award winning cocktails quench the thirst of even the most discerning cocktail connoisseur, while the twist on traditional backyard barbeque fare from the outdoor grill only adds to the allure of this skytop jewel. With a state of the art sound system, projection capabilities, two dj booths and a wide range of AV capabilities, Highbar is equipped to handle an infinite number of event demands.
